Ride re****t to ROT Rally,
Clint showed up at the house around noon on Friday.
We headed out i-10 to Petersons road for gas.
Took 90 to Brook****re then 529 out to Belville.
From Belville we hit 159 towards 71.
Stopped for lunch in Fayetteville. Double cheeseburger, not too bad.
The heat was not crazy before we merged on to 71, you could really feel
it coming from the black top and all the cars.
Dont recall when we arrived at the camp grounds but we bought tickets
and went looking for a place to put up the tent.
Decided on a spot far from all the action with easy access in and out of
the rally.
If you have been there at night you know why.
Put the tent up and went looking at the all stuff the vendors push on a
rally like this. Its pretty much the same crap everywhere.
Spent the rest of the afternoon looking.
Went back to the tent to relax, its kind of hard when its 90+ degrees.
We watch the riders setup for the parade, not sure how many bikes but it
looked like thousands.
Around 8 or so we headed over to the Hoolahut on the lake.
They had a 45 minutes wait so we had a few beers and chips.
Finally got a table and the food tasted great.
Decided on not going to 6th street and headed back to the rally.
Parked the bikes and went looking for the action.
Oh boy, plenty of action. Saw things a man should never have to see.
Trailers with stripper poles seems to be a common trends.
Hot women dancing on them, not so common but plenty of nasty fat *****
trying to dance.
It was like a train wreck, I just could not stop looking. After a while
I went looking for something to poke my eyes out.
The images are burnt into my brain forever and I will never be the same.
On the way back to the tent I stopped at the shower area and showered.
Simple water hose hung from a pipe with cold water. Felt good to get
the road dirt off.
Went to bed around 2am and could not sleep much. Out of bed around 6:30.
Clint got up a little later and we went for breakfast at Denny's.
After breakfast we went riding. Went out 2222 to 1431 or something like
that.
Called the Hippy Hollow ride maybe, nice ride.
I almost screwed up in a very tight turn, I hit the turn at a little
speed.
Gravel on the road and I did a nice little slide with the rear tire.
I realize I would not make the turn so I hit the breaks, first I locked
up the rear tire.
Then I got it under control but I was facing the ditch with more gravel
and trees.
Oh **** this will be rough - but I manage to stop in time.
The rest of the ride was uneventful.
Got back to the rally and Redshad and Louie called.
Met them in the parking lot for a few minutes before they headed out.
Clint and I went shopping, I got a few worthless items but Clint bought
some nice speakers for his bike.
We decided to head out and go home, I had it with the heat.
We rode down 290 to get home and it went well but boring.
Jerry had some problems so I did not get to see him, but his bike looked
good.
Hope all is well Jerry.
