Doing the math

by Sean_Q_ <nospam@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 22, 2008 at 05:40 AM

In the shop where they're fixing my Vespacar there's a mid-90's
Vulcan 1500, somewhat rusty and run-down looking. It has a broken
gear ****fter. The owner lives up the coast and uses it year round,
rain or ****ne.

To fix it the shop is going to have to tear the whole motor apart
and crack the crankcase. Their shop labor rate is $100/hour.

The wrench didn't mention a figure, but said it would take a lot
of hours. If it takes anywhere near 30, the owner would be better off
spending his money on this:

After that he could even recover some more by parting out his
old bike.
